So in celebration of the end of the work week for most, I have decided to announce that from this day forward my blog on Fridays will be called “Fun Fact Friday”!!
The other new addition to my weekly blog, dare I say the dreaded word Monday, will now be called “Mix It up Monday”!! But let’s not think about Monday yet. We still have the weekend to come!! Woo Hoo!!
I would like to give a shout out to my bestie, Candace Knapps, for giving me the idea to add a little flare to my blog with these new weekly additions!
So here goes…”Fun Fact Friday”!!!!
“One fish, two fish, red state, blue state!” Theodor Seuss Geisel (aka Dr. Seuss) was a children’s author extraordinaire, but were you aware that he was also briefly a political cartoonist? He drew for the left-leaning PM daily newspaper from 1941 to 1943 — a two-year period that came after Geisel (1904-1991) started writing children’s books, but before he created iconic works such as “One Fish Two Fish Red Fish Blue Fish” and “The Cat in the Hat.” Some say Geisel’s cartoon “Uncle Sam” was a prototype for the hatted cat’s physical appearance. Both have certainly made some mischief.
Does anyone else think Dr. Seuss looks a tad like Mr. Rogers? Just sayin…
