10 Fun Facts about Friends the TV show!

They were all our friends right?

Okay, I know, I know. You either were IN LOVE with this sitcom when it aired or you thought it was just plain stupid (my husband votes for the second option).

But either way, I thought these were some pretty fun facts about the tv show, Friends. I, for one LLOOVVEEEDD the show and wish desperately they would have a reunion. However, it some instances it might be depressing. Look at this…

Fact 1
The show originally was planning to focus on four characters: Monica, Ross, Rachel, and Joey. Phoebe and Chandler were just going to be supporting characters.

Fact 2
Monica and Joey were originally planned to be the show’s main couple.

Fact 3
In the early stages of series development, the writers considered making Chandler gay.

Fact 4
Before finally settling on the series name “Friends”, other titles considered were: “Friends Like Us”, “Six of One”, “Once Upon a Time in the West Village”, “Insomnia Café” and “Across the Hall”. The show was still even called “Friends Like Us” in the pilot.

Fact 5
Ellen DeGeneres turned down the role of Phoebe.

Fact 6
The iconic orange couch in Central Perk was found in the basement of the Warner Bros. Studios.

Fact 7
Courteney Cox was the only member of the cast not to get an Emmy nomination for her work on “Friends”.

Fact 8
Bruce Willis guest starred on the show for free.

Fact 9
During the show’s first season, each cast member earned $22,500 per episode. At the end of the series, they each made a $1 million per episode.

Fact 10
The final episode was watched by about 52.46 million viewers and is regarded as the fourth most-watched television series finale in U.S. history.

So there you have it folks, just saying, if someone has any news about a reunion you better let me know!!!

Let the Good Times Roll!!

I’mmmmm back!! Did everyone miss me?!? So yes, to everyone’s question. I took a little break from writing, if that’s what you call it. Funny thing is, when you’re a true writer, I find that even if you’re not holding a pen in your hand or tapping away at a keyboard, your writing still follows you.

Wherever you go it’s still right there in the back of your mind. At your job, the supermarket, the movie theatre, etc. It says, “I’m a part of you. The part that weaves itself within your heart, grows like a tree in your mind. I’m here. I’m ready when you are.”

So, here I am and here I will stay.

It’s easy for a writer to get distracted and even more easy for them to second guess themselves. The process is so long and tedious at moments. You have plenty of time to second guess if you can actually do it. Are you worthy of it? It’s an overwhelming place to be but not an impossible place.

Stay focused, stay steadfast. Let the story inside of you grow and produce fruit. God gave you a gift to share stories that only you can be the author of. Embrace it with no fear!

Tomorrow’s blog will be quite special to me. A deep thank you to my editor, Katelyn Stark of Stark Contrast Editing, who is beyond AMAZING. Because of her, I will be able to introduce my edited 1st complete chapter of my manuscript, Guarded Light, to the world!

Stay tuned…and Let the Good Times Roll!

Happy Writing & Editing!
