To all you ladies and gentlemen out there, I wanted to let you know that I not only won NaNoWriMo but finished early!! The writing gods were with me!!! LOL
I hope this can be encouragement to not only the participants of NaNoWriMo that are still plowing through to get 50,000 words by the end of this month. But to all writers out there who are just starting their manuscript or desperately trying to finish. You can do it! It’s totally possible with focus and determination! Good Luck! And Happy Writing!!!
Okay…whew…I was sweatin it after missing like 4 days in a row of writing. I had that inner voice screaming at me every time I did something else instead of sitting in front of the computer pecking at the keys of my novel. It said, “What are you doing!? You have a deadline! Well sort of one…what are you going to do when you have a REAL deadline with an agent and editors and a publisher!? This is your career for God’s sake! Or the one you wish you had so get with it! NOW!!!!”
Yep, that’s what it was saying all weekend when I cooked dinner, watched a movie with my husband, did laundry, etc.
So to all you NaNoWriMo beasts out there that’s been writing every day…ya’ll are freakin awesome…and to the others like myself…listen to that voice or it will kick your butt. LOL
Oh and to any who would like to know…I’m up to 25,235 words! Woo Hoo!! Got 14,397 words written today.
So how are all you hardworking NaNoWriMo writers doing out there!? We’re four days in and I feel quite accomplished. There’s something about feeling accountable to someone or something that makes you write those 1600 something words each day even if you’re exhausted. Right now I’m at 7,094 words and I’m pretty excited about it. I see my novel unfolding right before my eyes. I would love to hear from anyone else on how their journey is going so please add comments to this post. It’s nice to know you’re not alone in this! LOL. Keep checking twitter and facebook too, cause there are some fabulous tips and inspirational stories about NaNoWriMo. So everybody keep writing and enjoy the ride! It’ll be worth it in the end!

So it’s November 1st, which all of you pretty much know. Cause when I say November everybody thinks…Turkey! WRONG!!! Although, Thanksgiving is my favorite holiday, mostly because I get to travel back to Texas (my long lost home that I traded for cajun country), AND I get some of my grandmother’s fabulous chicken & dumplings, this year it means something else. NaNoWriMo 2014! Yep! National Novel Writing Month. I plan to take full advantage of this fabulous annual writing project that brings together amateur and professional writers all over the world! Yep, I said world! How freakin cool is that!? It helps writers either start on their novel that they’ve just been too scared or too busy to pursue. Or for those of us that have a novel started but have terrible writer’s block it seems for the last 3 months. Hmmmm? I think I might know who I’m referring to. It’s no matter though now! NaNoWriMo challenges you to write 50,000 words in 30 days. Seems like alot I know, but there’s something in the challenge that just gets the words flowing out. Knowing also that so many people, again all over the world, who have the same passion, the same drive you do are possibly wracking their brains for the perfect story to come out on paper just like you for this whole lovely month. 🙂 Today I racked up 1,754 words which isn’t too shabby I might say. So I say to all you writers out there, all you dreamers that have never quite made it to finally sitting down with that great idea and making it into a reality…I say the time is now!!! Join NaNoWriMo2014! And to the rest of you who have been brave embarking on this crazy 30 day journey with me I say “Who needs Turkey when we’ve got a deadline!!!” LOL
